Thirty-nine participants – RSHM, SHM Extended Family, and members of 5 other congregations completed a week-long Festival of Learning at Cormaria Retreat House in Sag Harbor, NY on Saturday, July 20th. Dynamic, inspiring presentations on “The Gospel of Luke and The Art of Grace” were given by Susan Calef, PhD, Professor of Theology at Creighton University. Reflection on the inclusiveness of Jesus the Prophet brought the prayer and dialogue of the Festival participants into communion with the Catholic gathering in Washington, DC on July 18, protesting treatment of refugees at our Mexican border. Over the 20 years since its beginning, the Festival has expanded in both inclusiveness of participation and scope of application to current realities. It is a highlight of spiritual development for all who are involved.
