Meeting of Enlarged Institute Leadership Council

Posted November 5, 2021

The Enlarged Institute Leadership Council will meet virtually from November 8-16, 2021. The theme for their meeting is:

Continuing our Life -Giving Mission:
Walking Together in a Wounded World.

The members of the EILC include the Institute Leadership Team: Ana Luisa Pinto, Margaret Fielding, Monica Walsh, Paré Moreira, Sipiwe Phiri and the Institute Area Leaders: Sisters Coltrida Mooya (Zambezi), Cristina Caetano (Brazil), Kathleen Kelemen (Western America), Maria Teresa Nogueira (Portugal), Moira Lever, (Northern Europe), Rosamond Blanchet (Eastern America), Valeria Erneio (Mozambique).

The work of the Council will be supported and enhanced by the technological and linguistic skills of sisters from the varying areas of the Institute.

During their nine days together the EILC will listen, pray, reflect, dialogue, and discern with one another. With input from the coordinators of Institute Committees, they will consider our response to the 2019 General Chapter priorities and our efforts to bring life to the Chapter vision.

Sr. Pat Murray, IVBM, Executive Director for the International Union of General Superiors will address the EILC during the meeting and Sr. Brid Long, SSL, will serve as the meetings facilitator. All RSHM will be invited to join the meeting, on zoom, for the opening prayer on November 8th and the closing ritual on November 16th.

The theme of the EILC is closely linked to the theme of the Synod on Synodality, to walk along the same road and to walk together. It also reminds us of our desire to “collaborate with others as we journey together, women of prophetic hope who proclaim that all have a place in our common home.” (GC19)

We ask for your prayers as we walk together during the EILC meeting, committed to continuing our life-giving mission in this our wounded world.
