In March and April, the Leadership Council of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, formed by Sisters Margaret Fielding, Paré Moreira, Ana Luísa Pinto and Sipiwe Phiri, visited the Area of Zambezi (Zambia & Zimbabwe) and Mozambique.
In Zimbabwe, the Leadership team met with sisters and collaborators who work at the RSHM Life Centre Clinic, the pre-novices and women who are taking part in the Come and See Programme (both in Chinhoyi). They also visited communities such as Dangamvura, in Mutare and Harare.
During the same period, the leaders were also in Zambia, where they visited St. Joseph’s Secondary School and the Farm Project, in Chivuna, which aims to help women, mainly widows and single mothers, with food security. In the country, the sisters also visited communities in Choma, Lusaka, and met with the Novitiate community and pre-novices.
In Mozambique, the Council had the joy of visiting places like Inhazonia, Beira, Gurué, Manje, Quelimane and Maputo, where they were welcomed by the sisters, collaborators and extended family. The group visited communities such as Casa Gailhac (Quelimane), Nossa Senhora da Esperança Community (Maputo), and Madre S. Jean Community (Maputo).
They also attended the ceremony marking the perpetual vows of Sister Aelita Otavia da Silva, in Zambia, and Sisters Joanita José and Izaura Paulino, in Mozambique.
“How beautiful is the community where there is only one spirit and one heart.” (GS/21/II/77/A. Vol. I, p. 292.)
