As the cardinals gathered in Rome, enter into conclave to elect a new pope, we are united in prayer with the whole Church, asking that the Holy Spirit may guide them:
Send the power of your Spirit upon the College of Cardinals
as they embrace this most important task.
May they be attentive to the needs of our world.
Grant them open and discerning hearts
to listen to and learn from one another.
Inspire them to choose the man who can lead the Church
to walk more faithfully in the footsteps of Jesus
and announce your kingdom with boldness and grace.
We make our prayer in Jesus’ name.
