Forever grateful for the gifts of our Founders
The Gift of Unity
Ana Luisa Pinto, RSCM, Institute Leadership Team
In many of the letters he wrote, Father Gailhac encouraged the sisters to be united to God and to one another. For him, “What makes the strength, the power of a community, is the spirit of Our Lord in each member, and that all the members make a single being.” His last words, which he left us as a testament, were precisely: “Union, union… always”.
Today, in this Eucharist, we wish to give thanks for the leadership of our founders – Fr. Jean Gailhac and Mère Saint Jean – in the service of the UNITY of the Institute.
At the same time, we ask God for “unity of mind and heart” – the unity that Jesus asked the Father for as a gift – and we renew our commitment to foster it wherever we are and with all that we are, in order to live and advance the mission today and in the future.
