RSHM Professes Final Vows in Brazil

Posted January 28, 2020

The definitive Yes is the strongest moment in the life of a religious. On January 19, 2020, in the parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima in Três Marias – MG, Sister Rosinéia Aparecida dos Reis had the joy of making her Perpetual Vows in the Congregation of Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary. In addition to a group of her congregation, sisters from different communities, her mother, brothers, other family members and a large number of parishioners were present.

The Eucharistic Celebration took place at 9 am, presided over by the parish priest, Fr Nivaldo de Fátima Melo, with Fathers Jacson Hilário Pereira and Valdo Brandão as concelebrants. In his homily, Fr Jacson recalled the partnership with Sr. Rosinéia when, as young people, they founded “Missionary Childhood” in Três Marias. Fr. Valdo, with a group of parishioners, came from Teresina, in Piauí, where RSHM were in mission for three years.

Central to this celebration was Sr. Rosinéia’s perpetual profession as RSHM. Sr. Aparecida Moreira on behalf of the General Superior General – Sister Margaret Fielding – received the Vows, joyfully confirming Sr. Rosinéia’s definitive membership in the congregation. Sr. Terezinha Cecchin, as Provincial Superior, confirmed the presence of Sr. Rosinéia in the Brazilian Province with her presence.

Sister Rosinéia currently resides in Bahia, in the RSHM Community in Riachão do Jacuípe. In 2009, she started, as an candidate, the process of her formation in Religious Life.

The ceremony of perpetual vows was celebrated in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude for the life given by Sister Rosinéia! (Sister Rosa de Lima Pereira)
