Ritual of Unity, Diversity and Internationality

Posted August 5, 2019

At our General Chapter, our prayer one morning included a creative action designed to celebrate RSHM internationality, and our unity in diversity. As a string was unrolled, the 63 delegates, guests and staff passed it to one another through the pews, with each person adding a word she had been given—words like “hopeful,” “grateful,” “joyful.” After the string had made its way throughout the chapel, everyone stood and sang in Portuguese the hymn of the Institute.
