More than 50 women and men religious (including our Sr. Paré Moreira) were present at Praça São Pedro. They are Brazilians who work in their Congregations, which are based here in Rome. General Superiors, General Councilors and others who perform different services in their respective Congregations.

VATICAN NEWS – ROME – 16-08-2020: In greeting the groups present at Praça São Pedro after saying the Angelus, Pope Francis addressed a group of Brazilian religious: “I greet the Brazilian religious present here in Rome, with many flags, these religious are following the First National Week of Consecrated Life, which is celebrated in Brazil. Have a good week of consecrated life. Go forward!”

“Beloved and Beloved, Called and Called by God” is the theme of 1st National Week of Consecrated Life, which takes place from August 16 to 22 in Brazil. The Conference of Religious of Brazil, CRB / Nacional, organized a general program and each Regional will also promote an event to live this time of grace with intensity.

“Here in Rome we have a group called Brazilian Religious in Rome, (RBR). We are not a Regional, but we meet periodically for various activities. At the invitation of Sister Maria Inês Ribeiro, president of the CRB, we realized that we, too, should hold an event here in Rome. The proposal arose to meet this Sunday, August 16, at St. Peter’s Square to pray with Pope Francis the Angelus prayer for Consecrated Life. We will make this gesture, in communion with the CRB and all Consecrated Life in Brazil ”. (Father Jaime Carlos Patias, Missionaries of Consolata and member of the RBR Group)
