2022 is pivotal for achieving gender equality in the context of climate change, and environmental and disaster risk reduction, some of the greatest global challenges of the 21stcentury. Without gender equality, a sustainable and equal future, remains beyond our reach. This year’s observance of IWD recognizes and celebrates the women and girls who are leading the charge on climate change and honors their leadership and contribution in moving us towards a sustainable future.
