Two More Councillors Appointed to the Institute Leadership Council

Posted August 14, 2025

With joy and gratitude, we announce the appointment of the two final members of the new Institute Leadership Council: Sister Veronica Brand and Sister Maria da Conceição Pereira.

Sister Veronica will serve as Councillor, continuing her important mission of representing the Institute at the United Nations, where she promotes our commitment to justice and peace. Her experience and dedication will bring a valuable global perspective to the Council.

Sister Maria da Conceição will serve as Councillor and Treasurer. She will spend the first months of her mandate in Portugal to oversee the transition of the treasury service in the Area, before fully assuming this responsibility at the Generalate, in collaboration with the current Treasurer, Sister Paré.

They will join Sister Coltrida Mooya, Institute Leader, and Councillors Sister Maria Teresa Nogueira, Sister Sipiwe Phiri and Sister Madalena Manhiça in leading the Institute for the 2025–2031 term.

We thank Sisters Verónica and Maria da Conceição for their generosity in accepting this call to leadership, and we entrust the entire Leadership Council to the guidance and blessing of the Spirit of God as they prepare to begin their mission in November.
