The 2025 General Chapter was graced by the inspiring presence of Sister Liliana Franco Echeverri (OND) on Sunday (20). The day began with a reflection on “The Reality of Women in the Church,” in which Sister Liliana proposed a four-step itinerary. The presentation highlighted women’s journey as a true paschal story and reflected on female insubordination since the 15th century, the presence of women in the post-Vatican II Council, and the new pastoral paths opening in light of synodality.
Sister Liliana continued her presentation in the afternoon with a reflection related to the Chapter’s theme, “Women of Prophetic Hope, Walking Together, Risking the New, so that All May Have Life.” She emphasized that religious life requires a prophetic commitment to care; it is not just an art, but a way of life rooted in mercy, compassion, and the common good. “Liliana offered us a message of hope and invited us, as consecrated women, to a new form of presence in the Church and the world today,” said the Chapter Coordinating Committee.
The conference was broadcast online to the sisters, collaborators, Extended Family, and Global Network of Schools. The video will soon be available on our YouTube channel.
