On July 23, the blessing Mass for the outgoing leadership team of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary was celebrated with great joy and a spirit of communion. It brought together all the sisters participating in the 2025 General Chapter. The celebration began with an inspiring invitation to be creative and committed women to synodality in challenging times.
We remembered the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si and our commitment to care for our common home with gratitude.
In one of the most emotional moments of the celebration, Sisters Margaret Fielding, Paré Moreira, Sipiwe Phiri, Ana Luísa Pinto, and Mónica Walsh were invited to approach the altar to receive a special blessing from all the sisters present. “May the God of life be with you, granting you ‘abundant life’ in the coming years…” This symbolic gesture was experienced as a truly gratifying moment of faith and joy, marking the end of a fruitful cycle and the beginning of a new chapter in the shared mission.
During the celebration, the Area Leaders also expressed their gratitude to the Leadership Team for their work over the past six years. “Thank you for the seeds you planted for our future,” the sisters repeated.
