Beginning of the 2025 General Chapter

Posted July 13, 2025

The Opening Ritual of Chapter 2025 paid reverence to those who have gone before us in history, calling us together as a community/body. “The music, gestures, symbols, images, and words will remind us that we are a people of hope, whose vision is: That all may have Life”

“Like Mary, we are ready to listen and welcome the new that God is doing. We are ready to say YES, as our founders, Venerable Jean Gailhac and Mere Saint Jean, said YES, and as we have said YES to God from the beginning, until the present day. We know that our future will be different. Like Mary, we have no certainties; but our FAITH and HOPE, like hers, sustain us!” Sister Margaret Fielding.

The first day of meetings, on Sunday 13th, began with a Mass celebrated by Father Geraldo De Mori SJ, followed by the sharing of the Institute Leadership Team Report by Sisters Margaret Fielding, Paré Moreira, Ana Luísa Pinto, Sipiwe Phiri and Monica Walsh, including information sent by the Areas and Groups of the Institute.  At the beginning of the presentation, the sisters cited Pope Francis’ Leadership as an inspiration, with the legacy of Synodality, which gives us hope.
