World Environment Day June 5, 2023 Beat Plastic Pollution

Posted June 5, 2023

The world is inundated by plastic. Governments, businesses, and people’s actions on plastic pollution matters. More than 400 million tons of plastic is produced every year, half is for one time use. Less than 10 per cent is recycled. An estimated 20 million tons end up in lakes, rivers and seas. Plastic clogs landfills, fills the ocean and is combusted into toxic smoke. It is one of the gravest threats to the planet. Take action to beat plastic pollution, protect and preserve the environment for present and future generations.
